What a gorgeous day in Juneau Alaska.
Normally at this time of year the clouds are down almost at ground level, with heavy rain.
No rain here today. Just blue skies.
It’s a beautiful day in Alaska.
The weather is very cold. It may say it’s 14 degrees but if you take the wind into consideration it’s quite a bit less than that.
We sailed into Juneau this morning to some spectacular scenery and beautiful blue skies.
Juneau is a very pretty little township.
Here’s a fun fact: Juneau is the capital of Alaska but you cannot get to it by road. The only ways in are boat or plane.
Today was our first port of call. We had planned a shore excursion to the salmon hatchery …
… followed by the Mendenhall Glacier.
The walk to the glacier was on a bear trail … I’m not sure if that is like a nude beach? It was a bit cool for clothing optional, me thinks … 🙂
Fortunately Yogi and Boo Boo were not around today.
Then dinner at a salmon bake. I’ll never be able to eat salmon at home again 🙁
Back to the ship soon as we sail out again at 9.30 tonight.
Maybe there will be more line dancing tonight? I hope not.
Ciao
